Fire in northwest London claims lives of four British-Pakistani family members

LONDON: A devastating fire in Brent, northwest London, has claimed the lives of four members of a British family of Pakistani descent, UK media and reporters reported.

Emergency services were called shortly after 1:00 AM on Saturday after a fire broke out within the residential Tillett Close in Stonebridge, Brent.

At the scene, a 43-year-old female and three children, consisting of a 15-year-old female, an eight-year-old male, and a four-year-old male, were found severely burned.

The UK news revealed that a man has been arrested on suspicion of murder, with the emergency services and police indicating arson as a potential motivation. The investigation is ongoing, and no information on the identity of the arrested man has surfaced.

Two other victims, a 70-year-old woman and a child, were rescued and taken to a local hospital. The condition of the victims has not been reported as of this time. Victims’ next of kin have been informed, and police are urging witnesses to provide information.

The affected family moved to the United Kingdom from Pakistan approximately 20 years ago. The tragedy has sent shockwaves through the local community as authorities continue to investigate the cause of the fire and whether there was any criminal motive.
