Free metro service in Islamabad now requires CNIC

Islamabad Metro bus service temporarily suspended

ISLAMABAD: On the second day of free metro service in Islamabad, a new condition has put citizens in trouble. The administration has made it clear that now no one will be able to get a free ticket without an identity card.

According to metro staff, it has been made mandatory to bring the original identity card to avail the free travel facility, while students have been specially instructed to carry their student card with them.

The metro administration says that no ticket will be issued to anyone in the absence of the required documents, due to which a large number of citizens had to return without traveling.

Citizens have expressed extreme surprise and concern over the sudden implementation of this condition, and mixed reactions are also emerging on social media regarding this decision.

Many passengers say that implementing such rules without prior notice is creating difficulties for the public, especially those who were relying on this facility for daily travel.

Citizens have demanded that either this condition be revised or the public be informed in advance so that they do not face difficulties.
