Funeral held in Rawalpindi for 12 soldiers martyred in Afghan border attack

RAWALPINDI: The funeral prayers of 12 soldiers who were martyred while defending the motherland in the attack from Afghanistan were offered in Rawalpindi.

According to the ISPR, the funeral prayers were offered at Chaklala Garrison in which Field Marshal Hafiz Syed Asim Munir, federal ministers, the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and top military and civil officials attended.

The ISPR said that 23 soldiers were martyred while defending the country against the unprovoked and cowardly aggression by the Afghan government on the intervening night of October 11 and 12.

Speaking on the occasion, the Defense Minister said that the Pakistani people are indebted to these heroes who sacrificed their lives while defending the country’s territorial integrity against the treachery of the Taliban government and Indian-backed terrorist proxies operating from Afghan soil.

He added that “Pakistan’s armed forces are determined to thwart any aggression or conspiracy against the country with full national support.”
