ISLAMABAD: The German Embassy in Islamabad has announced the temporary closure of its visa section because road closures in the capital city affected security measures for the upcoming US-Iran negotiations, which are scheduled to start next week.
German ambassador to Pakistan Ina Lepel announced via X (formerly Twitter) that the visa section will remain closed from 20 April 2026 until at least 21 April 2026.
The ambassador advised applicants to stay away from the visa section throughout this time because the embassy will handle all scheduled appointments by rescheduling them.
The closure occurs during increased security operations in Islamabad which support high-level diplomatic activities that include US-Iran negotiations.
The embassy did not announce a specific reopening date beyond the initial suspension period but indicated that updates regarding rescheduled appointments would be communicated when required.
