Girl drowned in storm while travelling to her office in Bahria Town

RAWALPINDI: A girl drowned in a storm drain in Bahria Town Phase 6 on Thursday morning while traveling to her office.

District Emergency Service has launched a search and rescue operation. Rescue 1122 spokesman Muhammad Usman said that Hamra, a 20-year-old resident of Ghauri Town, was riding her scooter when she was caught in a heavy water current.

Initial reports indicate that Hamra lost control of her scooter due to the slippery conditions and was swept away into a nullah. As of the latest updates, rescue teams have not yet recovered Hamra from the drain.

Rescue 1122 teams promptly initiated a search and rescue operation. Despite their efforts, Hamra’s body was eventually recovered, but her scooter remains missing. The search has now been extended to the Swan River area
