Islamabad weather: Light rainfall to lash federal capital

ISLAMABAD: The federal city experienced light and pleasant weather during the day with expected cloudy weather, gusty wind, and light to moderate rainfall during late evening. However, the temperatures varied from 28 to 34 degrees Celsius.

The humidity level rages up to 86% with a 10 percent chance of rain, followed by a light breeze in the direction northwest with a speed of 20 to 26 km/h. The air quality improved due to continuous rainfall from the last three days.

The Pakistan Metrological Department predicts heavy rainfall, accompanied by gusty winds and thundershowers in places, Murree, Gilyaat, Mansehra, Kohistan, Chitral, Deer, Sawat, Shangla, Buneer, Bannu, Karam, Waziristan, Dera Ismail Khan, Khyber, Noshera Sawabi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi.

Moreover, heavy rainfalls may also occur at isolated places Kilaat, Khuzdar, Barkhan, Lasbeela, Loralai, Sibhi, Harnia, Dera Bugdi, Naseerabad, MusaKhail, Jafarabad, from August 1 to August 5.

NDMA issued a warning stating that the lower regions of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Lahore, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Noshehra, and Kasur may get flooded due to heavy rainfall.

Earlier forecasts from the Met Office indicated rain likely in isolated places in Islamabad, Punjab, Sindh, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan on Saturday, with isolated showers expected in northern Punjab.
