KARACHI: Punjab Police have arrested Khawaja Aqeel alias Gogi Butt from Karachi for his alleged involvement in the murder of Ameer Balaj Tipu, sources said.
Sources privy to the development said that Punjab Police took the accused Gogi Butt in custody from Burns Road and took him away.
However, DIG South Asad Raza denied any information regarding the arrest.
Earlier on March 31, Punjab Police declared prime suspects Khawaja Tareef alias Teefi Butt and Khawaja Aqeel alias Gogi Butt proclaimed offenders (POs) in the Ameer Balaj Tipu murder.
Ameer Balaj Tipu, the son of Tipu Truckanwala, was gunned down by a suspected shooter later identified as a gunman of Teefi Butt during a wedding ceremony near Lahore’s Thokar Niaz Beg on February 19.
According to the Lahore Police, the assailant Muzaffar Hussain was also killed in the retaliatory firing where two people were also injured along with Balaj Tipu.
