Govt abolishes house-change privilege for transferred federal employees

KP introduces facial recognition attendance in hospitals

ISLAMABAD: It is important news for federal employees residing or waiting in government houses that the Ministry of Housing and Works has approved an amendment to the rules for allotment of government houses.

The ministry has said in a letter sent to the DG Estate Office that the Accommodation Allocation Rules 2002 have been amended, under which the right to change the house of federal employees transferred from one city to another has been abolished.

Now the transferred employee will have to register in the general waiting list and wait for his turn.

Earlier, those who were transferred from another city used to get a house allotted in the name of change, which affected the privilege of seniors who had been waiting on the general waiting list for a long time. The new amendment will redress this injustice.
