ISLAMABAD: The federal government has announced new working hours for public sector offices during Ramadan. For a five-day working week, the timing is in a form from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday to catch days, and 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM on Friday.
Whereas, those who work six days a week, their schedule will be from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday to Thursday, and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM Friday.
The change in these operating hours is meant to enable the workers and employees to fast during the holy month of Ramadan and ensure the smooth running of work services.
It will allow employees to carry out their devotional duties during their fasting hours and prayers while continuing theirs. The measure seeks to place the artist and the citizen in balance.
Other countries such as the UAE and Saudi Arabia do implement shorter working hours to their contemporaries during Ramadan.
