Govt to release salaries, pensions ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr!

Govt likely to raise salaries 7% and pensions 5% in upcoming budget

LAHORE: The provincial government of Punjab has announced to pay salaries and pensions to government employees on March 16 on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

As per the details, officials said the decision was taken to facilitate employees and pensioners ahead of the festival, allowing them to manage Eid-related expenses in time.

The early disbursement will apply to all eligible provincial government employees and pensioners across Punjab.

Earlier, the Punjab Police had approved an increase in monthly stipends for special children of its employees as part of its welfare measures.

According to an official spokesperson, the monthly stipend for children suffering from thalassemia has been increased from Rs 15,000 to Rs 30,000.

Similarly, the monthly allowance for children suffering from cerebral palsy has been increased from Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000. In addition, children of police employees who have been diagnosed with autism will now be given a monthly stipend of Rs 10,000.

Inspector General Punjab Police Dr. Usman Anwar said that the police force is like a family, and ensuring the welfare of employees and their families is the top priority.

He revealed that the Punjab Police is currently spending about Rs 220 million per day on welfare programs.

This decision is a clear expression of the department’s commitment to supporting its staff and meeting the special needs of employees’ families.
