Haripur district imposes ban on e-cigarettes, nicotine products

Vapes to beUse and sale of Cigerettes, Naswar, Paan banned banned in Islamabad under new rules

HARIPUR: The Deputy Commissioner of Haripur, Shoaib Abbas, has imposed a 90-day ban on e-cigarettes, vapes, and related nicotine products in the district, effective from September 6, 2024.

The ban, enforced under Section 144, prohibits the use of these products in public transport and spaces, as well as their promotion through media platforms and public displays.

Additionally, the sale of these products is restricted to individuals aged 21 and above, and they cannot be sold or stored within a 100-meter radius of educational institutions, hospitals, and public parks.

Meanwhile, the Sindh government has also imposed a ban on the sale of items commonly used for drug consumption, including various types of pipes and paraphernalia.

The ban, enforced under Section 144, authorizes police officers to register cases against violators under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
