Heavy rainfall causes destruction in KP

PESHAWAR: According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, recent rainfall-related incidents in the province led to the death of four people and left another nine injured.

Additionally, at least 14 houses were reported to have been damaged by the rains. The rain-related incidents occurred in several districts, including Haripur, Buttgram, Bajaur, Kohistan, Dir, Hangu, Khyber, and Torghar.

Rainfall and strong wind affected the areas of Buner, Malakand, Nowshera, Mohamad, Lakki Marwat, and adjoining areas, causing cold weather conditions.

Furthermore, snowfall was recorded in Swat, Mansehra, and parts of Chitral district, especially near the Lowari tunnel. Two landslides on the Karakoram Highway blocked upper Kohistan.

A westerly wave entered the northern parts of Balochistan, causing rain and cold weather in Chaman and the vicinity. Rain was also observed in other areas such as Qilla Abdullah, Gulistan, Jungle Pir Ali, and Toba Achakzai.
