According to ISPR, after the initial screening, two candidates were shortlisted, and both candidates will undergo astronaut training for 2 months.

The candidates were selected after undergoing comprehensive medical, psychological, and aptitude assessments conducted at the Astronauts Centre of China (ACC), in accordance with international human spaceflight standards.

After completion of the training, a candidate will be selected for the space mission in October-November. The space mission will take off from the Chinese space station with a Pakistani astronaut.
