ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court has rejected the petition to transfer the trial of TikToker Sana Yousuf’s murder case to another court and ordered Additional District and Sessions Judge Afzal Majuka to continue the trial.
Chief Justice Sarfaraz Dogar, while pronouncing the verdict on the petition filed by accused Umar Hayat, ruled that the trial of the case will continue in the current court. The accused had expressed no confidence in the judge and requested that the case be transferred.
On the other hand, the proceedings in the case under trial before the Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majuka were also ongoing. During the hearing, public prosecutor Raja Naveed Hussain Kiani appeared in the court, where the statement of another prosecution witness was recorded.
During the hearing, the defense lawyer suddenly became unwell while cross-examining the witness, due to which further proceedings were not possible. The court adjourned the hearing of the case until April 30 in view of the situation.
