Govt was willing to shift Imran Khan, but dispute over family member halts move

ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister Imran Khan was brought from Adiala Jail to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) on April 28 for follow-up eye treatment, according to a press release issued by the hospital administration.

PIMS officials stated that Imran Khan was administered the fourth dose of anti-VEGF intravitreal injection as part of his ongoing treatment. His consent was obtained prior to the procedure.

Specialist ophthalmologists conducted a detailed examination and found the patient to be medically stable. The Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) results also indicated clinical improvement.

The procedure was carried out in the operation theatre under strict monitoring and with the patient’s full awareness and consent. It was performed as a day-care surgery, and Imran Khan remained stable before, during, and after the treatment.

After completion of the procedure, he was discharged with follow-up instructions and necessary medical documentation.
