Imran Khan’s eye condition shows major improvement, medical report confirms

Govt was willing to shift Imran Khan, but dispute over family member halts move

ISLAMABAD: The medical examination report of PTI founder Imran Khan has been revealed.

The 73-year-old PTI founder underwent a detailed medical examination by a medical board on February 15, 2026. The medical board included Professor Dr. Nadeem Qureshi of Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital and Professor Dr. Muhammad Arif Khan of PIMS.

According to the report, the central macular thickness has decreased from 550 to 350, which is a significant improvement. The vision of the affected right eye has improved from 6/36 to 6/9, which is satisfactory at the current stage. Without glasses, the vision of the right eye is recorded as 6/24 and the left eye as 6/9. With glasses, the right eye is 6/9 while the left eye is 6/6.

The report includes all the details of the current medical condition of the eyes. The medical board has also recommended future treatment and medicines in the report.

According to the report, instructions have been given to give Nivanac eye drops twice a day for both eyes. Co-Supposit eye drops have been instructed to be continued twice daily for the right eye only. Sustanon Ultra eye drops have also been instructed to be used three times a day for both eyes.

The medical report has recommended giving the second dose of anti-VEGF injection as per the schedule. For further diagnosis, OCT angiography and FFA test after completion of anti-VEGF have also been directed.

After the medical board’s visit to Adiala Jail, Barrister Gohar Khan and Allama Raja Nasir Abbas reached PIMS where the experts gave a detailed briefing.

According to the report, Imran Khan’s personal physicians Dr. Asim Yousuf and Dr. Khurram Mirza were also briefed over the phone, expressing complete satisfaction and confidence in the ongoing treatment and follow-up plan of the party leaders and personal physicians.

The medical check-up report of the founder of PTI was issued with the signatures of both doctors.
