Imran Khan’s plea for weekly WhatsApp call with sons rejected

Imran Khan said that my sons, Kasim and Suleman, will come to Pakistan to meet me, not take part in any political activities or protest movement.

RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Terrorism Court in Rawalpindi Monday rejected PTI founder Imran Khan’s request to allow him to speak to his sons, Qasim and Suleman, once a week.

ATC judge Malik Ejaz Asif rejected the plea filed by former Prime Minister Imran Khan for a WhatsApp call with his sons weekly.

In response to Khan’s petition, the jail administration told the court that there is no legal provision for allowing the accused to have a conversation with their relatives via WhatsApp.

However, the court previously ruled that Imran Khan, who is imprisoned in Adiala Jail, be allowed to speak with his children twice a month currently resides in the UK with their mother Jemima Khan.

Following the administration’s response, Judge Malik Ejaz dismissed Imran Khan’s appeal to speak to his children once a week via WhatsApp.

The ATC Judge sought a response from the jail administration over Khan’s claim that he was not allowed to speak with his sons despite being allowed to do so by law.
