Indian media claims back-channel diplomacy between Pakistan and India

ISLAMABAD: Indian media sources have reported that back-channel diplomacy talks have been underway between Pakistan and India post the escalation witnessed in May 2025.

As per a report in the Indian press, experts, politicians, and former diplomats from both nations have reportedly engaged in at least four rounds of informal dialogue sessions following the escalation.

The report highlights that the dialogues were carried out within the framework of Track Two diplomacy, with the most recent one occurring in Doha in February this year.

Further, it was revealed that the first such discussion took place around two months following the May 2025 incidents, with the assistance of a British think-tank organization. The environment in the early talks was reportedly very tense.

The mood of the later discussions reportedly became somewhat more restrained and cautious.

Moreover, the report revealed that following the four days of fierce fighting in May 2025, official diplomatic channels between Pakistan and India have been largely frozen.
