ISLAMABAD: An aircraft carrying Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi once again crossed Pakistani airspace on its way back from the high-profile United States visit on Tuesday evening, aviation sources said.

Narendra Modi’s aircraft used Pakistan’s airspace for approximately 46 minutes, entering from Chitral at around 5;30 am, and flew over Islamabad and Lahore before entering Amritsar.

India’s PM decided to bypass the tradition of conveying a goodwill message while flying over Pakistan, which sparked conversations about the strained relations between the two neighboring countries.

Later, Modi arrived at Delhi airport after concluding his 3-day US visit at 9:17 PM (IST). During his visit, he attended the QUAD Leaders’ Summit and the Summit of the Future (SOTF) at the United Nations in New York. Along with that, he held some key bilateral meetings.

Three days earlier, PM Modi’s plane also used Pakistan’s airspace en route to Pennsylvania in the United States.
