ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information Ataullah Tarar on Sunday launched a series of comprehensive reforms at Pakistan Television (PTV), aimed at improving the content and professionalism of the network.
According to the details, 25 low-rated programs will be discontinued, with all changes taking effect immediately.
These reforms include the launch of new programs under the policy designed to promote professionalism and constructive criticism.
The network is bringing in professional anchors, producers and experts to enhance the quality of PTV news and current affairs.
Minister Tarar emphasized his commitment to end the culture of recommendations, incompetence and fake news from PTV. He said that the aim of the new policy is to increase the ratings of talk shows by promoting professional attitudes and constructive criticism.
“Our aim is to make PTV’s shows and programs profitable,” said Ataullah Tarar, highlighting the network’s successful coverage of the ICC T20 World Cup, which generated historic profits for PTV.
