Internet service shutdown extended for another 2 days in Quetta

QUETTA: Mobile phone internet 3G and 4G services have been suspended for the 7th day in most districts of the province, including Quetta, the provincial capital of Balochistan.

According to Additional Chief Secretary Home Hamza Shafqat, the suspension of mobile phone internet services has been extended by 2 days till November 18.

He said that this decision has been taken in view of the continuously increasing security concerns, while the possibility of further extension is also being expressed on the recommendation of security agencies.

Earlier, mobile phone internet services were suspended from November 10 to November 16; however, due to possible threats, it has now been further extended.

Users in different areas of the city have been facing difficulties due to the unavailability of the internet for the past several days.

Citizens have expressed serious concern over this prolonged shutdown. Online business people, food delivery riders, students and journalists say that their work is being badly affected by the unavailability of internet service.
