ISLAMABAD: Muslims around the world including Pakistan will observe Shab-e-Barat on February 14 (Friday), which falls on the 15th night of the ongoing Islamic month of Shaban.
Regarding the holy night, the Sindh Education Department has already announced a public holiday for all educational institutions across the province.
The notification reads that the schools and colleges will remain closed on February 14 (Friday) due to Shab-e-Barat.
The federal government and other provincial governments have not declared February 14 a public holiday yet, which means educational institutions shall function normally unless the notification is issued.
Shab-e-Barat is the holiest night between 14 and 15 Shaban, which Muslims observe to seek forgiveness from Allah Almighty.
Special religious gatherings will be held across the country and people will also visit graveyards to recite Fateha on the graves of their loved ones.
Muslims around the world celebrate the night of 15 Shaban with religious fervor as they offer special prayers and offer nawafil prayers in mosques.
