CDA seals Marriott Hotel in Islamabad for legal violations

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) Building Control Team has sealed the Marriott Hotel in Islamabad due to multiple legal violations, here on Wednesday.

The hotel found to be operating without a completion certificate, posing a safety risk to public lives. Key volitions include the illegal use of the basement for storage, unauthorized construction in mandatory setbacks, and the establishment of a marquee without approval.

Additionally, the hotel has failed to pay outstanding dues amounting to approximately Rs. 160 million. The CDA also pointed out the illegal parking setup on the green belt.

The CDA has emphasized that these actions endanger public safety and violate building regulations.
