Engine fire forces emergency landing of AirBlue flight in Islamabad

Engine fire forces emergency landing of AirBlue flight in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: A terrifying incident occurred on AirBlue flight PA-207 from Islamabad to Karachi when a sudden engine fire broke out during takeoff, causing panic among passengers.

Passengers captured the alarming situation inside the aircraft on video, showing smoke billowing from the engine engulfed in flames. Inside the cabin, passengers appeared frightened and distressed, with some standing and others seated, while a few recorded the incident on their phones.

The pilot immediately aborted the takeoff and the plane was safely returned to the runway for an emergency landing. Fortunately, all passengers were evacuated safely, and no casualties have been reported.

AirBlue’s management confirmed the incident and stated that a thorough investigation is underway. They emphasized that passenger safety remains their top priority and assured that all necessary measures will be taken to prevent such incidents in the future.

This event has once again raised concerns about the safety policies and protocols within Pakistani aviation, especially considering AirBlue’s history of accidents, including the tragic AirBlue Flight 202 crash in 2010.

The Civil Aviation Authority has taken notice of the incident and launched an investigation. Authorities hope that effective steps will be implemented to enhance safety and prevent recurrence of such dangerous incidents.
