ISLAMABAD: The Federal Ministry of Education has announced a plan to convert primary schools in Islamabad to solar energy, here on Saturday.
As per the ministry spokesperson, all primary schools in the capital will be equipped with solar power systems within the next two months.
The spokesperson explained that the solar power project for the schools is expected to be completed by the end of the year. The initiative is designed to promote sustainable and cost-effective energy solutions.
The project will reduce electricity costs and provide a clean, sustainable energy source for schools. To achieve these goals, solar panels will be installed on the roofs of selected schools.
The spokesman added that the savings froSm the solar project would be reinvested to expand educational facilities in the federal capital. It should be noted that recently Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that no new duty will be imposed on solar panels to promote access to renewable energy.
In the federal cabinet meeting, he said that the government is committed to providing affordable renewable solar energy to all citizens in Pakistan.
