New heavy traffic rules announced for Karachi

ISLAMABAD: The administration has imposed a temporary ban on the entry of heavy vehicles into the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi on March 22 and March 23.

The travel restrictions were imposed in light of security and traffic management for the Pakistan Day Parade, scheduled at the President’s House in Islamabad on Sunday.

As per the traffic plan, all large vehicle entry will be prohibited in the twin cities from 12 pm on March 22 to 3 pm on March 23 to facilitate the parade’s seamless execution.

All large vehicles will be stopped at specified locations by the traffic plan. Motorway vehicles will be stopped at Burhan Interchange, while vehicles traveling from Peshawar via GT Road will be stopped at Margalla and Taxila.

Motorway vehicles from Lahore will be halted at Chakri Interchange, while GT Road vehicles will be halted at Mundra Toll Plaza.

Additionally, heavy vehicles from Kashmir and Murree will be halted twenty kilometers before the 17-mile toll plaza.
