ISLAMABAD: Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Capt (retd) Hamza Humayun chaired a high-level meeting at Traffic Headquarters to review the measures taken to ensure smooth traffic flow in the federal capital.
The meeting was attended by SP Traffic Majid Iqbal and Zonal DSPs. The officials reviewed the existing arrangements and discussed strategies to deal with congestion at busy intersections and commercial centres.
CTO Hamza Humayun directed all Zonal Officers to conduct a staff audit in their respective areas and deploy personnel at high traffic points during rush hours. He directed the officers to take strict action against wrong-way driving by registering cases against violators and to eliminate illegal parking that disrupts traffic flow.
He further ordered that traffic should be managed in an orderly manner during working hours and officers should ensure their presence at important places. Daily performance reports from Zonal Officers were also made mandatory.
Furthermore, the CTO directed that regular operations be conducted against illegal parking to maintain order on the roads in commercial centers of Islamabad.
