ISLAMABAD: In line with the vision of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and the directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police has launched a citizen-friendly mobile application called 1INFO to enhance public safety and facilitate instant communication between law enforcement officers and citizens.
A police spokesperson told the media on Sunday that the app is available for download through the official website of Islamabad Police, Apple Store and Google Play Store.
The 1INFO app offers two basic features: an emergency panic button and an information sharing button.
The emergency panic feature allows users to get immediate police assistance with just a press. He said that once activated, rescue teams of Islamabad Police are immediately alerted and dispatched to the user’s location without any delay.
Through the information sharing feature, citizens can send important tips or concerns to the police through voice messages, videos or photos. He added that it allows individuals to confidentially report any crime, suspicious activity or seek help regarding public safety concerns.
The ICT Police urged all residents of the capital to install the 1INFO app to ensure quick access to emergency response and seamless communication with police authorities. According to a press release here, the app is part of a wider effort to modernize policing and bring digital convenience to the public.
