ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a severe warning as a severe cold wave continues across the country. The temperature in the capital Islamabad is expected to drop below freezing tonight, adding to the already chilly weather.
The PMD forecast suggests that the upper reaches of Pakistan will continue to experience bitter cold, with temperatures expected to dip significantly below zero in many northern districts. Frost is likely to occur in Islamabad, the Potohar region and selected plains of Punjab during the morning hours, adding to the chill.
Authorities are urging caution among tourists and travellers, advising them to limit their exposure to harsh weather conditions. “Unnecessary exposure to cold should be avoided,” the PMD stressed, as it highlighted the risks of frostbite and other cold-related illnesses.
