ISLAMABAD – The federal government has approved a decision to rename a major new highway in the capital city after a brotherly neighboring country, Iran.
This development comes from President Seyyed Ibrahim Raisi of Iran’s official visit. He is scheduled to land in Pakistan today for an official three-day visit (April 22–24), making history as the first foreign head of state to visit Islamabad since the establishment of the new administration.
According to reports, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) submitted a statement that suggested renaming Eleventh Avenue as Iran Avenue, and the federal cabinet had accepted it.
The new roadway has been built under phase I, from Sector D-12 to the northeast corner of E-11. In the second phase, it will be connected to IJ Principal Road.
The Eleventh Avenue has been named Iran Avenue in a show of solidarity with the brotherly country.
