TikToker Sana Yousuf brutally shot dead in Islamabad

Sana Yousaf murder case: statements of 3 prosecution witnesses recorded

ISLAMABAD: TikToker Sana Yousuf was shot dead in Islamabad’s Sumbal police limits on Monday.

Sana Yousuf, a resident of Upper Chitral, was shot dead in G-13/1. According to police, unknown assailants barged into her house and shot her dead. The attackers shot the TikToker and fled.

Sumbal police reached the spot, took Sana’s body into custody and shifted it to a hospital for post-mortem.

In January this year, a man who had recently moved his family from the US to Pakistan confessed to killing his teenage daughter over her TikTok activity.

Anwarul Haq was charged with murder after confessing to shooting his daughter Hira dead in Quetta. He initially claimed that unknown assailants were responsible for the murder.

The father of the American citizen reportedly called his daughter’s social media content “objectionable”.

Authorities have said they are investigating all possible motives, including the possibility of an honor killing – an incident that, despite condemnation, remains a cause for concern in some parts of the country.
