ISLAMABAD: Senator Kamran Michael has condemned the burning of a church in Jaranwala, which he termed an attack on religious harmony and tolerance. He demanded urgent action to bring the perpetrators to justice and prevent such incidents in the future.
According to the details, a mob enraged over blasphemy allegations set on fire several churches and a number of houses belonging to Christians in Jaranwala tehsil of Faisalabad on Wednesday.
Senator Kamran has issued a statement regarding the Jaranwala incident. He said that “In times of distress, our hearts go out to my Christian brothers and sisters who are affected by the tragic incident.
“We condemn the desecration of the Quran, and we also condemn the burning of churches and the desecration of Bibles. The unjust treatment of Christians is a grave violation of our principles of harmony and respect,” he added.
