KARACHI: The Karachi police have issued a traffic plan for the forthcoming tri-nation series and Champions Trophy matches at the National Stadium.
It aims to ensure smooth traffic flow and minimize congestion during the matches held on February 12 to 14, February 19 to 21, and March 1.
Pakistan will play South Africa in a day-night match of the tri-nation series on February 12, while the event’s final will be played between the top two sides on February 14.
Traffic Diversion Plan
According to the traffic plan issued by the police, Sir Shah Suleman Road will remain open to traffic on match days. Vehicles coming from Karsaz should park either at the National Coaching Center or at the China Ground, gaining access to these points through the underpass from the Karsaz flyover.
Likewise, vehicles coming from Millennium and New Town will also be able to park there. Vehicles from Sohrab Goth will be instructed to follow the road along the National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA) to maintain an even flow of traffic.
Moreover, the commuters traveling from Liaquatabad No. 10 are advised to head towards Hassan Square. Additionally, heavy traffic coming from PP Chowrangi will be channeled towards University Road.
The police announced that heavy traffic would be restricted on the three roads leading from Karsaz to the stadium, Millennium to New Town, and from Stadium Signal to Hassan Square during the matches.
To avoid congestion, vehicles parked elsewhere than in designated parking lots will not be permitted to do so during the Champions Trophy matches.
With this traffic plan, the Karachi police seek to provide security and comfort to the spectators attending matches at the National Stadium
