KARACHI: Karachi Police Chief Javed Alam Odho has said that reports indicate the use of fake number plates has increased as motorists attempt to e-challans, prompting authorities to launch a large scale campaign against the practice across the city.

Addressing a press conference alongside the CPLC Chief and the DIG Traffic, Javed Alam Odho said that since the introduction of the e-challan system, the city’s traffic management has improved significantly.

As per details, he revealed that nearly 100,000 e-challans have been issued so far.

The Additional Inspector General of Karachi said that the use of fake and tampered number plates to avoid fines has begun, and a major operation against such violations will be launched from December 19.
