KARACHI: Police in the port city of Karachi continue to make headlines for the wrong reasons and the latest incident saw a Karachi police officer suspended for changing clothes in front of a woman in a police station.
As per the details, the incident was caught on camera and a video that went viral on the internet showed the officer changing his shirt in front of two women at the Liaquatabad police station.
The incident caused widespread outrage and raised questions about the ethical standards of the police force. The policeman in the clip has been identified as Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Parvez. The women, looking uneasy, turned away as he changed uniforms.
The women in the clip were allegedly called to the station by ASI Parvez in connection with the ongoing investigation.
Taking immediate notice, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) West Irfan Baloch suspended ASI Parvez for his inappropriate behaviour.
Top officials have condemned the incident, saying such actions are unacceptable, and will be dealt with accordingly.
