PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has returned Ali Amin Gandapur’s resignation with objections to the Chief Minister’s signature.
In a letter written by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Kundi, it was said that two contradictory resignations have been received in the name of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, and the signatures on both resignations were described as different and dissimilar.
Governor Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi directed Chief Minister Ali Amin to come to the Governor’s House at 3 pm on October 15 to verify the resignations.
It should be remembered that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly is going to elect a new Leader of the House today, for which the nomination papers of 4 candidates have been accepted.
These candidates include Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Sohail Afridi, JUI-F’s Maulana Lutfur Rehman, PML-N’s Sardar Shah Jahan Yousuf, and PPP’s Arbab Zarq Khan.
On the other hand, consultations are underway among the opposition parties to bring a consensus candidate. According to Opposition Leader Dr. Ibadullah, the opposition will field a consensus candidate for the election of the new Leader of the House.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly comprises 145 members, with 93 government members and 52 opposition members. A majority of 73 votes will be required to elect the Chief Minister.
