KP govt bans study trips, school picnics

Government announces winter vacations for schools in Balochistan

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government on Friday banned educational field trips and picnics for government school students.

The notification issued by the Elementary and Secondary Education Department KP stated, “All government school authorities in the province are not allowed to take students on educational field trips, tours, or picnics.”

The restriction applies to primary, middle, high, and higher secondary schools.

The notification has been circulated to all District Education Officers (DEOs) and the merged districts, instructing them to strictly enforce the ban.

The decision comes amid concerns over student safety and security, though officials have not disclosed further details regarding the reason for the ban.

Earlier in Peshawar, the administration banned the sale of junk food within a 150-meter radius of schools by enacting Section 144.

The enforcement of those regulations was a proactive measure to protect the health and safety of students and residents. The district administration’s actions reflected their promise to address public concerns and maintain command in the region.
