Lahore High Court dismisses two civil judges over misconduct

LHC forms full court bench for alleged rape against female students

Lahore: The Lahore High Court (LHC) dismissed two civil judges from their positions after finding them guilty of misconduct, a private news channel reported on Friday.

The Chief Justice of the LHC has the authority to take disciplinary action against judges under the Judicial Code of Conduct.

As per details, Lahore High Court Chief Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmad found two civil judges, Saima Waheed and Imtiaz Ahmed, guilty of misconduct and later dismissed them from their jobs.

It is pertinent to mention that earlier in a similar incident, Senior Civil Judge of Lower Dir District Muhammad Jamshed Kundi was forcibly removed from his post after allegations of corruption against him were proven.

Peshawar High Court (PHC) compulsorily retired Senior Civil Judge Muhammad Jamshed Kundi for violations of discipline and rules.

According to the PHC notification, Muhammad Jamshed Kundi was accused of in-service misconduct, after which the High Court initiated disciplinary proceedings against him.
