Lahore to enjoy five-day holidays from Feb 4 to 8

Eid holidays announced for Islamabad High Court and District Court employees

LAHORE: The Punjab government has announced 5-day special holidays in Lahore from February 4 to February 8. Along with national days, the city’s traditional festival of Basant has also been included.

According to the provincial government’s announcement, the holidays will begin on February 4 with Shab-e-Barat. While February 5 will be a national holiday on the occasion of Kashmir Day. After this, Basant celebrations will be held from February 6 to 8. As a result, citizens will get 5 consecutive days of holidays.

Schools, colleges and government offices will remain closed during these holidays. So that citizens can participate in Basant celebrations and spend time with their families.

The authorities have emphasized on safety measures especially related to kite flying during Basant. Because in the past, there have been concerns of crowds and accidents on this occasion.

According to the city administration, the purpose of the long holidays is to respect Lahore’s cultural traditions, provide recreational opportunities to the public and promote social activities.

Local organizers are organizing various events and programs to celebrate Basant in a safe manner. These will include music concerts, kite flying competitions and community activities.
