Lahore weather forecast: Heavy to moderate rainfall anticipated

LAHORE: The Citizens of Lahore experienced heavy rainfall today morning. Whereas they are likely to witness temperatures ranging between 27°C to 33°C. Moreover, residents enjoyed pleasant weather in the morning getting some relief from the past hot temperatures.

According to the Met Office, the provincial capital will witness late-night thunderstorms with an 80 percent chance of rain by late afternoon and evening.

Humidity levels will increase, ranging from 90% to 95%, with light northwest winds blowing at speeds of 10 to 20 km/h. Air quality is expected to remain within satisfactory levels, providing relief from recent pollution concerns.

Recently, rainfall in Lahore broke 44 years record with the most recorded rain. It also caused damage to the buildings where several homes flooded with rainwater.

Moreover, roads started to look like rivers due to rainwater collected on them, disrupting the transportation system in the city, NDMA has issued flood and landslide warnings in the lower regions of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad.

Monsoon currents are penetrating from the Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea in the upper/eastern parts and are likely to penetrate the central and southern parts of the country. A trough of westerly wave is also affecting northern parts of the country.

Residents are advised to carry umbrellas or rain gear, especially during the evening hours, not to go near damaged buildings, and to stay updated with local weather updates for any developments throughout the day.
