Eight injured after hospital’s lift collapses in Lahore

LAHORE: Eight women were injured with one in critical condition when the lift of a private hospital, located at the Main Boulevard in Lahore’s Iqbal Town, collapsed on Thursday.

The hospital administration confirmed that the women had reached the Al-Shafi hospital to inquire about the health of some patients.

Police said that the lift suddenly malfunctioned and collapsed inside the duct from probably the hospital’s second floor, which resulted in the injury of eight women including one seriously hurt.

They were later identified as Yasmin, Sobia, Farrah, Shumaila, Naila, Sameera, Sadia, and Goshi.

The hospital staff alerted the police regarding the incident. Later all the injured women were shifted to Jinnah and Mayo Hospitals for treatment.

Police have started probing into the matter to find out the hospital’s negligence.
