LAHORE: The City Traffic Police Lahore has implemented a law under which it has been made mandatory for front seat passengers in vehicles to wear seat belts as they may face fines in case of violation.

The traffic police have further reinforced the importance of using seat belts for both the driver and the front seat passenger, highlighting how seat belts protect them from sudden collisions.

In a video shared on the Lahore Traffic Police Facebook page, an officer can be heard saying that if the passenger in the second seat does not fasten his seat belt, he will be fined.

He further says that in case of violation, the passenger will pay the fine and not the driver.

Currently, a fine of Rs 750 is imposed for not wearing a seat belt while driving in Lahore.
