Lahore High Court announces holiday next week

LAHORE: In recognition of the annual Urs of Hazrat Ali Hajveri or Data Ganj Bakhsh, the Lahore High Court has announced a holiday in all courts on August 26.

This decision was made with the approval of Acting Chief Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh.

The official notification said that all sessions and civil courts of Lahore will remain closed on August 26 for the Urs of Hazrat Ali Hajwiri popularly known as Data Ganj Bakhsh. This bandh is to support the annual commemoration of this highly revered saint in Pakistan.

The Urs of Hazrat Ali Hajveri is an important religious event that attracts thousands of devotees to Lahore every year, who come to pay homage to the saint known for his spiritual teachings.

The purpose of the closure of the court on August 26 is to enable people to fully participate in the celebration without any disruption.
