LAHORE: A case has been registered against Model Azbia Khan and photographer Zain Shah for recording a bold video shoot in the premises of the famous Wazir Khan Masjid in Lahore.

First Information Report(FIR) was filed by Mohammad Awais, an official of the Walled City Lahore Authority (WCLA), against the Model Azbia Khan and the photographer.

The video went viral online, reportedly showing the model in a revealing outfit, sparking outrage among social media users and authorities alike.

The WCLA official said that the model filmed the video wearing ‘unreasonable’ clothing and without authorization from the relevant authority.

He stated that the video clip was shot about four days ago and thereafter shared on social media. It had also harmed the department’s reputation while breaching the mosque’s sanctity, he added.

In August 2020, a similar issue gained attention when police filed a complaint against a group, which included singer Bilal Saeed and actress Saba Qamar, for allegedly “violating the sanctity” of the Wazir Khan Mosque by filming a music video there.

After the contentious video clip of Saba Qamar and others went viral on social media, the Punjab Auqaf and Religious Affairs Department prohibited the shooting of plays and movies in mosques and shrines.
