LHC announces Eid-ul-Adha 2024 holidays

LHC rules private land acquisition without public interest unjustified

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has officially declared a three-day holiday period for Eid-ul-Adha, effective across all courts in the province.

According to a notification, the LHC and civil, district, and session courts will observe holidays from June 17 to June 19.

Chief Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmad Khan approved the announcement, which aligns with the federal government’s earlier notification declaring Eid-ul-Adha holidays from June 17 to June 19, as approved by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Practically, the holidays will begin on June 15 because most government offices and educational institutions are closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Many workers and students benefit from this arrangement, which provides them with five consecutive holidays.

Furthermore, the provincial governments of Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as well as the State Bank of Pakistan, have announced Eid holidays on the same dates, assuring consistency across the country.
