LAHORE: In view of security and regional tensions, an important decision has been taken regarding matriculation exams, under which papers have been postponed at several examination centers abroad.
According to a notification issued by the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, matriculation exams have been postponed at examination centers established in Iran, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain for the time being.
Officials say that this decision has been taken keeping in mind the current security situation and regional conditions to ensure the safety of students.
According to the board, the issuance of roll number slips for these countries has also been temporarily stopped, however, examinations in all other examination centers abroad will be held as per the previously issued schedule.
The announcement said that to facilitate the affected students, they are being considered for giving them the option of taking the exam in Pakistan or a nearby country.
In addition, if any logistical issues arise at any examination center, immediate alternative arrangements will be made so that the academic activities of the students are not affected.
The Federal Board clarified that the situation will be reviewed again after 15 days, if the situation improves, new dates will be announced, while if the situation returns to normal, all the remaining exams will be conducted as per the previously scheduled schedule.
