Mobile internet service to be suspended tomorrow: Here’s why!

Internet service shutdown extended for another 2 days in Quetta

QUETTA: The Balochistan government has announced the suspension of mobile internet services across the province on the occasion of 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal in view of security concerns.

According to the Balochistan Home Department, mobile data services including 3G and 4G will remain suspended from 5 pm on September 5 to 9 pm on September 6.

Officials confirmed that a formal notification has been sent to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) through the Ministry of Interior to implement this decision.

In addition to mobile services, PTCL and NTC wireless internet services have also been directed to be suspended in several districts. The ban applies specifically to Nushki, Khuzdar, Mastung, Sibi and Quetta, where security agencies fear high threats during religious gatherings.

Officials explained that the move has been taken to maintain law and order during religious processions and public gatherings on 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal. Security agencies believe that the suspension will help reduce potential threats and ensure the safety of participants.
