WUHAN: The Pakistan Navy’s submarine Ghazi, equipped with modern weapons, was launched at the Shuangliu base in Wuhan, China.
According to the ISPR, the Pakistan Navy has crossed another important milestone in the Hangor submarine program.
After the launch of Ghazi, all four Hangor submarines under construction in China have entered the sea trials phase. The Ghazi is the fourth Hangor-class submarine of the Pakistan Navy to be manufactured in China.
The ISPR says that there is an agreement between Pakistan and China for 8 Hangor-class submarines.
Under the agreement, 4 Hangor submarines will be manufactured in China, while 4 will be manufactured in Pakistan.
According to the ISPR, the manufacturing of Hangor submarines at the Karachi Shipyard will be under the transfer of technology.
According to the ISPR, the Hangor-class submarines will be equipped with modern weapons and sensors, and the Hangor submarines are capable of hitting long-range targets.
The ISPR says the Hangor-class submarines will play an important role in peace and stability in the region.
