Motorway robbery turns into brutal gang rape in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD: A sad incident of gang rape during a robbery on the motorway has occurred once again, here on Thursday.

Taking notice of the alleged gang rape during the robbery, the CPO Faisalabad has ordered the immediate arrest of the accused, while the police have registered a case and started legal action.

Yesterday, an alleged gang rape incident took place near Motorway Bridge 62 JB Chanan in Sandalbar police station of Faisalabad city, Punjab.

A citizen named Adnan was taking his wife home from the hostel of the Agricultural University on Jhang Road to Chak 62 JB Chanan when three armed robbers on a motorcycle stopped him, robbed him of his belongings and tied Adnan to a tree. After that, the attackers took the woman to a sugarcane field and gang-raped her before fleeing the scene.

After the incident, the police registered FIR No. 339/25 at Sandalbar police station on the complaint of the victim’s husband and started legal action.

The police spokesperson said that Faisalabad CPO Sahibzada Bilal Umar has taken notice of the incident and has sought a report and ordered Iqbal Town SP Abid Zafar to ensure the immediate arrest of the accused.
