ISLAMABAD: WAPDA has allowed to install multiple electricity meters in homes for the consumers across the country.
WAPDA and Power Division have clarified that installing additional electricity meters in homes will be legal and possible in 2026.
This policy is especially useful for giant families, landlords, and tenants so that each family’s bill is separate and transparent.
Additional meters can be installed only if each part of the house has a separate living space, separate entrance, separate kitchen, and separate wiring.
To apply, an identity card, proof of ownership or tenancy, an affidavit, and a disco check are required.
This system will benefit every family in terms of fair bills, transparency, and proper utilization of subsidies.
Under the rules of WAPDA 2026, installing multiple meters is completely legal, and legitimate consumers will get the facility of additional meters.
